Keeping your floors clean has never been easier than with the Sand Away. Installation of this step cover requires no tools and no hard work. Simply place the curved cover over the bottom step of your fifth-wheel, camper, or RV and secure it in place using the included hooked springs. The Sand Away will then trap any sand, dirt, or grit from the soles of your shoes as you wipe off your feet on the step. Never again worry about tracking grime into your RV. When it's time to clean the step cover, simply spray down the Astroturf-like material with a hose and you are ready to use it again.

Today, we're going to be taking a look at part number SASSA80-00. This is the Safety-Step Sand Away Dirt Trapping Step Cover. The step cover is going to scrape sand, dirt, and grime off the bottoms of your shoes as you wipe off your feet on the step cover itself. That's going to help keep the inside of your RV or camper clean because it's going to keep those materials outside where they belong. The installation of the unit is very quick and easy. It doesn't require any tools. It requires very little effort, nice simple installation.
It's going to come with everything that you need, so you're going to get your clips and you're going to get the 2 hook springs to secure the cover onto your step. The springs are going to allow us to apply the proper tension that we need to get a nice tight, secure fit around the step itself. Cleaning is also very simple. What we have is a AstroTurf-like material. It's going to do a good job at scraping those elements off the bottoms of our shoes, and it's also easily cleanable.
All you have to do is spray it down with a hose to get all those materials out and to clean it, so nice simple cleaning. This is designed to fit your standard curved RV camper step. It is designed for the Lippert Components Hickory Spring pull-out steps, and to make sure this is going to fit, we're just going to go over a few basic measurements. The overall length measuring from edge to edge, that's going to give us a measurement of 21-3/4 inch, and if we take an overall width measurement right here in the center, that's going to give us a measurement of about 8-1/2 inches. Again, simple installation. What we'll need to do is take these clips. There's going to be 4 of them.
We're going to place them through the slots on our step cover. Do 1 at each corner. These are going to provide the anchor points for the hook springs. Once we have all these installed, you would simply take the cover, place it over top of your stop, and then on the underside of the step, you would grab your spring and simply place it through the slots on each one of those clips. Now, that's going to wrap around the step providing a secure fit. That's going to do it for today's look at part number SASSA80-00..

These safety step covers are wonderful! Iv'e had then on a year and they wear like iron. They look like new. I would never buy another type of cover again.
Other step covers I have used (like from camping world) wear out in less than a year.

Wife loves the step covers greatly reduced tracked in dirt and gravel.
They work very well to get sand and dirt off your shoes stiff enough to get dirt out of the tread of your shoes but soft enough to still walk on bear footed
the item is great but please secure the springs and clips better. that plastic that you wrap them in is not working, they open too easily in the box.
I will not use them till spring but checked and they fit perfectly. Going on the first step of a Northern Lite, which has a fold-up step. In the up position, will have to be careful of the spring connector as the step can be used in both positions. Camp on the beach and will definitely be used to keep a lot of sand out.
Adhesive holding mat down could not deal with a south Texas summer. I have two and they’re both loose in spots. So if in the heat save your money, it will just come up. Otherwise it keeps the outside outside. Sand and dirt stay on the mat.
Perfect fit, easy to install. Quality product as advertised.
Hopefully this will help keep the inside of RV cleaner.
Step covers are 100 times better than the wrap around crap.
Love that this mat is formed to my RV step. Good quality and should keep most of the dirt out. Mine was missing the mounting hardware but received it in 4 days after notifying etrailer.com with their 800 number. I would buy again when I need one.

Notes: missing the straps that connect to the springs that keep it on the step. liittle bit of the cover is coming up but can easily be glued down.
